Lahinch has become Ireland's main surf town over the past decade. With its traditional Irish pubs and numerous surf shops the town has a great buzz about it that is hard to experience elsewhere. It has one of the most accessible beginner’s beaches in Ireland, as well as nearby Spanish Point and many other spots for different standards of surfers. The two-mile long beach in Lahinch with its variety of breaks caters for novice, intermediate and experienced surfers. Both are good places to learn surfing with the advantage of the slower rolling Atlantic waves. The area has become famous in recent years with the discovery of Aileens, one of Europe's biggest waves, at the foot of the Cliffs of Moher. If riding waves of any size isn’t enough, knock back a pint or three of the black stuff and go swing your bat and down a birdie at Ireland’s most famous golf course.
