The British Surf Film Festival
, held at the new Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay, Cornwall, aims to celebrate the very essence of surf culture with a selection of old and new surf feature films and documentaries as well as launching the hottest new homegrown talent.

The premier showcase for surf film and lifestyle in the UK, The British Surf Film Festival combines an iconic mix of old classics and contemporary masterpieces alongside independent films and photography to take you on a journey through surfing’s heritage.

In between screenings, we will be hosting Q&A sessions with filmmakers and notable surfers, discussions and meet and greets with surfing’s elite. A surfing gallery will be open to the public for the duration of the event and exhibit entrants in our Homegrown photo competition.

Thirty Thousand - (12A)
Thirty Thousand follows twin brothers Richard and Andrew James as they travel 30,000 kilometers down the west coast of Africa on a 9-month surfing odyssey from Casablanca to Cape Town. Along the way they surf in Morocco, Western Sahara, Senegal, Liberia, Angola, Namibia and South Africa. The film documents the waves, cultures and landscapes of this long and diverse coastline.
