When something isn't broke, then don't fix it I say.
Remember last years Rip Curl Pro Search last year in Portugal? Remember how good it was? Well instead of trying to look for a better location some place else, Rip Curl thought Supertubes was so perfect, they have decided to return the event to the shores of Peniche this autumn by hosting the Rip Curl Pro Search 2010 at world heavyweight 'Supertubes'.
The event will be held between the 7th to 18th October and is the 8th event on the world circuit (of 10) - undoubtedly a crucial time on the circuit for determing who the next world champ is. Who knows, this year the winner could be crowd on Portuguese soil.
Marketing Manager for Rip Curl Portugal and the project coordinator Francisco Spinola said “We are very happy to be holding this event once again in 2010. We want to stage the event every year. It’s so encouraging to see how much the surfers, the media and the public appreciate the fact that the world’s best male and female surfers come to surf the waves of this great country. Along the coastline are some really excellent spots and unbelievable waves. We’re as motivated as ever to host the ASP Tour at Peniche once again, especially at the Supertubos spot. It’s a world-class wave that is certainly one of the best beach breaks in the world!”
