The forecast looks epic for the weekend, a couple of feet of clean swell, blazing sunshine, warm temperatures and an opening season party and contest from the crew at Santa Cruz. The contest is a truly one of a kind experiment too, two teams, one from Santa Cruz and one from party hosts Belushi's will battle it out first on the friday and then on the Saturday, for bragging rights. Nothing new there I hear you scream, thing is there is a massive party on the evening of the 21st. So first half of the contest will be pretty standard, second half will be with a raging hangover; it's a surf comp Santa Cruz style. The party at Belushi's is open to all and will feature bands Albenaza and The Eyelids, there will be giveaways, drinks promotions and general all round debauchery as you'd expect from the Sanat Cruz crew. We'll be there too, so get yer arses down there for a season opening bash to beat all others.
