What counts as being brave these days? Has James Hick got massive plums because he pushes himself over ridiculous mutating death slabs for kicks? Or is Tim Nunn courageous for deciding to take a small crew of surfers into the danger zone, and surfing in the shadow of an erupting volcano in Iceland whilst everyone else ran from it? Maybe Greg Martin was ballsy for taking County Limits to South Wales this issue and going out on the town in Porthcawl? Or maybe they’re all just mental. Either way, bravery or stupidity makes for great surfing adventures, funny stories and epic photos. So check out the new issue of Wavelength out this week, featuring an interview with Hicky to find out how it feels to hit the step at Shippies, the first instalment of Tim Nunn’s Edge of the Earth project where he searches for isolation underneath a volcano, County Limits scoring sunny Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan, and Ben Selway’s road trip to Portugal where he might have been really brave, but is suffering from amnesia and can’t remember. There’s also a shed load of radalicious boardies to make you look like a pro surfer down at the beach this summer. YOU NEED THIS MAG!
