So golden balls won the UKPro Tour for a second time, unfortunatley your editor had the flu when it happened so we had a little catch up to see what's up and what's on for the future.
So how to does it feel to win the tour for the second time? Well when I think back to when I first won the tour the depth of talent was not what it is now so to nail another one now with great surfers like Ruebs, Butts and Jayce coming of age, it feels great.
Coming from fifth, but with no throwaways you always looked dangerous, you must have been smiling when The Gor and Reubyn went down early? I knew the mighty Fistral would have its way with a few contenders when I got down to the beach on sunday morning it was still kicking in at 6ft, when Fist is like that in a comp it feels like your just surviving round after round because anything can happen out there so much paddleing my arms were cramping in the final.
This caps off a pretty good year competitively, this your highlight or was it the boardmasters? I really enjoyed the Boardmasters and to get 5th at that level was great but I'm never satisfied untill I win so it was bitter sweet, both events have great memories for me, I would like to say that Tom Butler's approach to competitive surfing over the last season and on Sunday was a highlight for me, I definately felt like he was wanting it as much as me and he's surfing really well.
What about the 'QS next year you going to be going full on again? Yep back on tour next year, I feel like I've laid a good foundation this year I've learnt a lot, I know what I need to change to get some big results so bring it on.
