Step aside Laird, there's a new kid in town!
Stefan will compete in the worlds toughest paddle race 'The Molokai' on the 25th July. At 22 years of age he is the only Englishman up against the best watermen of this sport. Considered by many to be the World Championship of Paddleboard Racing, the Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard has become the single most iconic event in the paddling community. Both Stand Up Paddling and Paddle boarding champions from around the world will be gathering in the Hawaiian Islands this July to test their athletic ability against the 32 mile crossing of the Kai'wi Channel. At it's deepest point the channel is over 2300 feet deep and creates a funnel effect that shoots billions of gallons of seawater between the islands each hour. Combine this with trade winds and large seas the danger the Kai'wi presents each athlete has forced organisers to be escorted by boat and support crew. This event will determine the prone and stand up Paddleboard champion of the world.
Stefan has been in training now for many months, paddling in excess of 50 miles per week around the south west UK. As a keen surfer, Stefan has involved himself in many water-based activities including a 30 mile paddle from Wembury out to the Eddystone lighthouse and on to Bantham beach last year in aid of charity. Stefan, who works for Daniel Surf is sponsored by Excel Wetsuits. For further information regarding his challenge, please contact
