CONGRATULATIONS SKINDOG! – NEW EUROPEAN LONGBOARD CHAMPION 2011.......
Ben ‘Skindog’ Skinner is the new European Longboard Champion, securing himself a spot on the WCT Tour next year. Competing at the ASP 3* Tuaca Longboard Pro at the Relentless Boardmasters at Fistral, Skinner thrilled both judges and spectators with his standout performance in the semi-final. Scoring a perfect 10 point ride and a near-perfect 9.5 meant he advanced to the final, which was all he needed to do to synch the European Men’s Longboard title, as well as qualification into this year’s ASP World Longboard Tour.

“I am so happy,” stated Skinner. “This means the world to me… I got lucky with those two waves and they had a nice bowl at the start to do a turn and a nose ride. I tried to link everything together and do a combination of manoeuvres which is what the judges want to see. Obviously they liked it so it feels good to perform and be rewarded so thanks to you guys for that.”

But it was Skinner’s friend and the World no 2. Antoine Delpero who walked away with first place at the inaugural edition of the ASP 3* Tuaca Longboard Pro. In a closely fought 30 minute final, Delpero and Skinner battled it out with the lead changing several times. Delpero eventually sealed the victory on a long peeling right with a combination of turns to receive a 9.17 out of 10 and an unbeatable lead. O’Neill team rider Adam Griffiths, placed third, also sealing his place on the World Tour.
All at O’Neill wish Skindog & Griffiths good luck for the World Tour, which kicks off in Sri Lanka in October. http://www.oneill.com/
