The Rider Slip Slider Pro Surf Invitational
The 21st May see’s the first running of the Rider invitational surf contest to be held at Porthmeor beach St Ives.
16 of the UK’s top surfers have been hand picked to battle it out for a cash prize with no entry fees for competing.
A tidy sum has been set aside for a prize pot totalling £1,500 to be shared out by the top 3 surfers on the day. 1st Place - £1,000 cash 2nd Place - £300 cash 3rd Place - £200 cash
In a break from the traditional surf comp format, places in the 4 man final will be secured using an aggregate scoring system. Each surfer will compete in two heats with the sole aim of achieving the highest possible two wave score. The 4 surfers with the two highest scoring waves from either of their heats will progress to the final.
The final will be run in a standard competition format with the two highest scoring waves combined to decide the placings.
With a format designed to encourage big moves and the cream of British surfing talent in attendance the Rider Slip Slider is sure to throw up some top notch surfing with some great spectating offered right on the beach.
