  • Quiksilver Inc receives binding offer for Rossignol sale..
    27 August, 2008 : - -Huntington Beach, Calif.--Quiksilver, Inc. (NYSE:ZQK - News) today announced that it has received a binding offer for the acquisition of 100% of the Rossignol Group. The offer is made by Chartreuse & Mont Blanc, headed by Bruno Cercley, a former CEO of Rossignol. Chartreuse & Mont Blanc is majority owned by Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG - News) and supported by a non-voting minority interest by Jarden Corporation (NYSE:JAH - News).

    27 August, 2008 : - - Seignosse, France -- Lee Ann Curren (Biarritz, FRA), 19, claimed the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-2 Rip Curl Pro Junior Mademoiselle today at Les Bourdaines in Seignosse. Curren, who defeated Justine Dupont (FRA), Pauline Ado (FRA) and Marie Dejean (FRA) in a 100% French final, took the best out of the good hollow four foot (1.2 meter) waves in the seventh event of the season.

    27 August, 2008 : - - SurfAid International is delivering clean water to Nias communities - some for the first time - after completing 99 water projects on the island which was devastated by the March 2005 earthquake. The massive earthquake, measuring 8.7 on the Richter scale, destroyed buildings and roads and killed more than 1,000 people on Nias, which lies 125km off Indonesia?s North Sumatran Coast.
