Nathan Phillips and Alan Stokes are just some of the UK's pro's competiting over the weekend.
Local surfing legend Spencer Hargraves, is the Contest Director who's brainchild this inaugural Skins event is, said "This Skins event will be the first time Newquay has seen an event like this for a long time. It'll be great for the surfers and spectators alike and its nice to be able to run this kind of event so the surfers don’t have a lot of pressure and can really go for it !!! It will bring surfing home to Fistral on the biggest weekend of the year. Surfers can really rack up the money, so they'll be stoked to have an opportunity to have fun and compete in this type of contest, which will really keep the spectators on the beach interested too.”  

Fistral Beach will be packed out with activity from Roxy, Gibson Guitars, Starboard, Suzuki, St Tropez and The Quiksilver & Roxy Newquay Surf School during the three day Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Gibson Guitar Tour Bus will be parked up on Fistral Beach exclusively for The Quiksilver Skins event and will be the hub for impromptu gigs over the weekend. The Gibson Guitar bus has been specially kitted out for the most demanding of rock stars and will serve as a chill out area for surfers and musicians. The bus is a rock n roll experience in its own right and provides a taste of the heritage and prestige that Gibson Guitars represents around the world.

Ben Howard and Surf Chixx are some of the guest artists you can expect to see performing over the weekend.

Starboard and Roxy will also be on the beach with a range of their new Stand Up Paddle boards for everyone to demo with the help of Quiksilver legends Grishka Roberts and Spencer Hargraves.
