“I’ve got love for you if you were born in the ‘80s… the ‘80s.†Thirty years ago, John Conway was getting contractions and preparing to be rushed to the printers to give birth to the first ever issue of Wavelength. As the proud father of a new era in British surf media, he threw a huge party and surf contest, so he could show off his beautiful baby. Over the years, the annual event became known as the Boardmasters, and the beautiful child blossomed into the complicated, mouthy, surf-obsessed delinquent that you all know and love. In this special 30th year anniversary issue, out this week, we flick back through the embarrassing photo album and pull out our proudest moments.
