Nearly a third of the Worlds population are believed to be infected by Tuberculosis. Primarily a disease that attacks the lungs, classic symptoms usually are a chronic cough with blood-tinged sputum, fever, night sweats, and weight loss. Infection to other organs, cause a wide range of symptoms which, if left untreated will result in death for over 50% of its victims. TB is highly contagious and commonly contracted when a carrier either sneezes or coughs and the uninfected come into contact with droplets of spit. It is thought that on average new infections occur at a rate of about one per second, which, in this day and age with an ever-increasing population doesn’t come as great news. Luckily, though, for Jordy, O'Neill wetsuits and clothing, Red Bull energy drinks, JS Industries surfboards, DVS footwear, Vestal watches, DaKine accessories – Jordy’s family, friends and all of his supporters, he isn’t infected with Tuberculosis. The TB that struck down Jordy was actually the great TB. NOT the disease – just 31 year old, West Australian Taj Burrow in the Quik Pro final on the Goldcoast. In doing so, a question is presented; W-T-F Dane? Remember what I said yesterday? I genuinely thought you were the Neo in my Matrix, a Maximus Decimus Meridius in my Coliseum or simply the great Dane-two fingers-to-mediocrity-yet-still-can-take-everyone-out-Reynolds. I thought this was going to be the changing of the tide, even the Gypsy Acora down Truro Piazza had you down for glory, but oh so sloppy. Jordy owned you, man. Then TB owned Jordy in a final which I jelly necked the whole way through. I was going to write a more in depth analysis of events in the last 24 hours but I haven’t stop crying.
