Did you know the Bristol Channel has the second largest tidle range in the world and the resulting force of spring tides being sent upstream is the cause of the Severn Bore? You do now and if you were watching BBC Breakfast this morning you would've seen the thing in action, live. If you didn't however, here's Sky's coverage. It's well worth watching, if only for quotes such as 'there are waves reaching 2 metres - that's some height to be crashing down on top of you!' And; 'it's amazing how they're not crashing into each other!'
