Hi guys,

Sorry this topic probably comes up every other day but I was struggling to search the forum for one.

I have recently become very much determined to learn to surf, my girlfriends dad lives in Wadebridge and

we've been heading down several times in our wetsuits to try and get used to the waves.

In April it's my birthday and my girlfriend wants to get me some surf lessons, however obviously there are so

many different companies all offering different packages and prices. Are there any you highly recommend or any

you suggest to avoid? I've looked at Trevone, Polzeath, Watergate Bay and Harlyn mainly.

I'm gonna be 23 so not particularly young to start.

Sorry to be a bore and bothered you with the q's.

Any help appreciated,

Cheers

GMF

There are tons of them out there. Watergate Bay has the academy there http://www.watergatebay.co.uk/extremesports-surf.htm and there is also the oneillsurfacademy.co.uk also at watergate. Over at Margan Porth (next beach) there is The Surf Club run by Nick Tiscoe http://www.thesurfclubcornwall.co.uk. Nick and his crew are pretty sound.

Best thing to do, is ring in advance, have a chat to them, see who gives you the best customer service and go from there. At the end of the day your paying for someones tuition and skills so you want them to be sound. Both Watergate and Mawgan have pubs/restaurants close by so you can have a few jars and food post surf... Happy days or what.
