After a week of pretty darned decent surf in the south west, and a great Saturday we are reaching the conclusion of our board tests. We've had nine people on the different shapes now from pro riders to near beginners. The results have been interesting, kind of, especially if you're in the market for a new board. We haven't rolled over and let the advertisers have it their own way either, these will be legitimate board tests to give you the reader an honest appraisal of what we and fellow surfers think of them, as well as some expert insight. So if you're after a new stick, the next edition of The 'Length is a must read.

Greetings from the future. Sort of. It's 7.37am here on a stormy Saturday morning in Western Australia, 11.37pm on a Friday your time. I know that you've all been wondering where my handsome ass has been these past couple of weeks and why my blogging activity has been as lively as Darren Bent in an England shirt. I also know that for nearly all of you, this is very upsetting and the lack of Selway in your life has made you feel lost and afraid, like a baby Dace caught in a keep net. But hush, I'm here. Don't be sad. I haven't forgotten about your needs. If you feel angry, I understand, you have a right to be. If you're angling for someone to blame – then blame Australia's total lack of speedy internet connections. Blame the surf for being so shitty and having little else to report other than the fact they call Marmite 'Britmite' over here. And why not blame all of the spots for being so spaced out, that we've ended up spending 85% of our waking day in the hire car, breathing in the delights of pissy wet suits, old banana peels and each other's gas – thus leaving a meagre 15% of our time to eat, write emails to our loved ones and quickly knock a load out at bed time. Just don't blame me, if you do, it'll make me sad. And when I'm sad, I cry. And when I cry, I get all pissy and don't end up writing my blog. Alright?
Hello from Australia! Lots of love Selway and Cotty x

Winter's finally coming to an end, Spring is in the air, and a lovely four day Bank Holiday Weekend is upon us. And what better way to celebrate than a massive party by the beach? After a couple of months off, Love Riot returns to Cornwall's legendary beach side venue The Sandbar, Praa Sands, for a night of music and dance of the looser variety, featuring some very special guests, Australia's No.1 house DJ's The Stafford Brothers. In their home country Stafford Brothers are bloody massive, hence beating all the other big Aussie DJ's such as Dirty South & Vandalism to the top of the nation's most influential DJ poll. Headlining all kinds of massive events from super clubs to festivals, it's safe to say the Stafford's are well on their way to global domination! Also playing will be Cornwall's very own superstar house DJ extraordinaire Ry Spenceley, as well as a debut Love Riot performance from Mexico's 'Dennis D'Angello', who's latest mix you can download from the S1ut website. Seeing as it's Easter Sunday, and you'll no doubt all be attending church that morning, we want to see you all suited and booted in your finest Church wear. Or failing that, just get down to your local Oxfam and treat yourself to something weird and wonderful. As you're going to be wanting to look your best for the 'Butlers in the Buff'. Fresh from Gwinear Women's Institute annual frock swap, the lads will be hosting the evening, serving you a classic vintage on entry.

The Boy Who Trapped the Sun - Home E.P. Review by Dan Bayfield
Here we have a six song e.p. from Isle of Lewis (great surf spot) via London resident Colin Macleod. Going under the name 'The Boy Who Trapped The Sun' Macleod offers up six mellow acoustic tracks, with slightly dark undertones and a depressing outlook on life (a staple 'go-to' outlook for many singer/songwriters - perhaps bitter because nobody wants to be in a band with them?)

Little Fisty. photo John Conway
Just found these two shots of Little Fistral buried deep in the gold mine that is John Conway's slide archive here in the Wavelength Cave. One thing is troubling me though... I've been to Little Fistral many times, and I don't remember ever seeing that stack in the rocks on the right. Is it an old chimney stack? Is it natural? Where has it gone? Some of you must know what the hell that is... please school us...

Ok, ok... So maybe 'Fab Feb' is a bit of a camp understatement on our part, but nevertheless, it looks like our favourite Irish hellman, Fergal Smith, has been having a pretty nuts time of it recently. Check out this sick video from Astray Films of what he got up to in February, and thank your lucky stars that his month was not as office-based as mine...

Last night there wasn't anything on T.V so the missus asked if she could watch Gok's Fashion Fix, about 15 minutes in, I became so paralysed with boredom I decided to go trawling through all of my junk email. There were hundreds, but the best one I found was entitled ‘Curly lesbians loving each other on this one sugar.’
