So it's now been 24 hours, 24 long hours in Gatwick airport. The island I am flying to is ash bound, it seems there may be some hope on the horizon though. My destination actually has three international airports for an area roughly the size of Britain. One of them in the north looks as though it will be open tomorrow and we have been reliably informed that we will be going. Here's hoping as there is a lot of swell on the way and it would be a shame to see it all go to waste.
